MBABANE - Soulful music lovers were treated to sultry sounds of Afro-soul, delivered by the cream of Southern Africa.

South African Idols top 6 finalist, Musa Mashiane, the talented band Blu Lamp, Zulu Soul and Bholoja, made sure music lovers enjoyed the best of their music as they performed live at Eswatini Theatre Club last Saturday night. They left the audience with goosebumps, as they opened their souls through their songs and sang their lungs out. It was a beautiful evening for everyone, as the four-piece bands proved to be a great unit on stage as they connected well and complemented each other’s vocals in the most inspiring way.

Cheering

When Zulu Soul from Durban hit the stage as an opening act, the bass guitarist, lead guitarist and drummer had the crowd applauding and cheering throughout the vocally gifted musicians’ performance. They presented inviting sounds that left some on their feet. Blu Lamp followed and took the show to another level, by bringing a whole lot of soul to the Theatre Club, with lead guitarist and vocalist Moghale stealing the show with his skills on the mic and guitar. The band is not new in the country as they have been playing with Bholoja for over four years now. Before leaving the stage, Bholoja dusted his guitar off and joined them on stage where they performed one song, which was well received by the audience. By the time Musa Mashiane brought his magic on stage with songs such as ‘Lengoma’ the crowd was already filled with joy from the previous performances. Mashiane started his performance by doing a Christian worship song titled ‘Siyakhuleka’ which moved the house. The song received an overwhelming round of applause and cheers from the joyful crowd.

Talented

These talented stars collaborated to host the concert as a build up to next year’s Yebo Gogo, Yebo Mzala festival which is organised by Bholoja. “We are happy people enjoyed the music. “We are bringing Kunle Ayo next year. These shows are a build up to the festival and we are also giving upcoming artists a platform to shine,” Bholoja said. Moghale said he enjoyed playing in Eswatini and said the love he received while on stage encouraged him to work even harder. Precious Simelane said she enjoyed all the performances. “They were moving and so real. It was just a beautiful musical experience,” she said. The amazing live performances knocked everyone’s socks off until 10pm.
