EZULWINI - Inspiring!  That was the impression around Mdura’s second annual birthday shandis as he was celebrating his birthday at Sibane Hotel last Saturday.

His second edition was one of a kind as he dedicated it to upcoming comedians. This was after he started a show a few months ago dubbed at ‘Funny bizness‘held at Emfuleni Lifestyle which takes place every Thursday, with the aim of elevating the comedy industry and also giving a podium to upcoming comedians.

The show has managed to unleash 14 good comedians.
During an interview with the birthday boy, Mduduzi ‘Mdura’ Dlamini, he said this edition was special as he was on the move to discover new talent and give back to the comedy industry.

“This was exciting and I am glad that I am making a change in the industry,” he said.
His show was a blast, even though it started an hour late, fun lovers kept their cool and more seats were occupied.
People kept flocking in; judging by the fun ambience one could tell that it was going to be a great night.

First to hit up the stage was Mfundo ‘Ndosh’ Simelane, who was the master of ceremonies. He kept revellers glued to their seats with his spectacular jokes.
He dropped lines especially about the Manzini teams which he recommended that one should follow them for their safety.

First

The first act of the night from the crazy line up was Mukelwe ‘Mcfiga’, who gave a good performance dishing out entertaining jokes about him having a father from Mozambique.
As if that was not enough one of the comedians unleashed from the Emfuleni Life style event, Bongiswa, killed it with her ridiculous jokes and left the crowd in stitches.

Sbu, who was also part of the line up also smashed it with his very slow but funny character as he was expressing his different views on how some churches behave, which was hilarious.

Comedy lovers were given their money’s worth as they saw the thrilling performances of Mcola Maseko, Dr Shakes and Thembela, who made that the audience laugh out loud  such that they couldn’t stay in their seats.

It was a theraputic night but most of all a celebration of one of the pioneers of comedy, a young person who is eager to learn and also help elevate the comedy industry.

The man of the night Mdura was the last act.

Funny

He closed it off with his funny jokes and hilarious impressions.
After the show, comedy lovers took pictures with their favourite comedians including the upcoming ones, which was also a bliss to watch and a confirmation of the great work Mdura has done.

Temalangeni Dlamini, who was also part of the show, also sent her love and birthday wishes to Mdura.
“Happy birthday Mdura may the almighty shower you with many more years,” she said.
Thapiwe Mthethwa also sent his birthday wishes and attested to having a great time.
“I respect what Mdura has done for the comedy industry at his age and we are looking forward to his inspiring projects, happy birthday mate,” he said.
