MBABANE - A great festival comes with great technological improvements! MTN BUSHFIRE has announced the development of the official MTN BUSHFIRE App, that has come about through a partnership between MTN Bushfire and Real Image, the festival’s IT partner.

The MTN BUSHFIRE Festival App is in line with the festival’s #BringYourFire ‘green’ mandate, a commitment to environmental sustainability. This year, the festival embraces the #GreenYourFire theme through delivering a paperless festival.

House on Fire Communication Officer Wandile Dlamini confirmed the new official App.
“Other ways in which the event will embrace the theme include recycling, tree planting activities, among others. The Festival’s commitment to environmental sustainability extends into the Marketplace and Global Food Village, with vendors required to use recyclable or biodegradable materials for their packaging within the festival,” said Dlamini.

Transform

The festival app is scheduled to be officially released this week and is set to transform the way patrons communicate with our key customer touch points, with access to tickets, line-up, festival map, park and ride schedule, merchandise, sponsor a child, explore and general information.

The app will also allow the user to view the festival artist line-up, artist bios, performance stage schedules with an exciting feature that will enable a user to create a custom schedule of their favourite artist and then receive real-time notifications of when the artist is about to go on stage.

A real-time ‘Lost & Found’ notification feature will also been added within the app’s interface. Any user of the app will receive notifications if and when an item has been lost and handed over to the Bushfire team. The app will also feature access to the Merchandise online store.

Software

An app is a software or programme, most commonly a small, specific one used for mobile devices. The term app originally referred to any mobile or desktop application, but as more app stores have emerged to sell mobile apps to smartphone and tablet users, the term has evolved to refer to small programmes that can be downloaded and installed all at once.

There are thousands of apps designed to run on today’s smartphones and tablets. Some apps can be downloaded for free, while others must be purchased from an app store.

MTN Bushfire is an acclaimed music and arts festival known and loved for its Afro-centric ethos and its strong focus on African music, culture and the arts.
