MBABANE – Fresh from hosting a sold-out show, comedian Smallz has clinched a deal with a South African radio station.

The petite stand-up comedian’s uniquely distilled flavour of humour and raw talent has not gone unnoticed as K Radio FM, a community radio station based in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, tabled an offer for the energetic man-of-the-moment.

It seems the comedian’s active social media platforms played a huge role in him clinching the deal as the radio station said they got to know about him and his craft through his social media platforms.
According to the host of the Siyaphakama drive show, Sakhile Ndlovu, Smallz was offered the deal of being a resident comedian for the show, which airs every afternoon.

“I was impressed by his work as I have been following him on social media and the interest grew stronger following the huge success of his latest show.
We decided to contact him and offer him a deal as a resident comedian for our afternoon drive show,” Ndlovu said.

The excited host further shared the news with listeners on Monday afternoon before playing a voice clip of the comedian sharing one of his hilarious jokes. He said listeners were impressed by his jokes.

When contacted for a comment, Smallz said he was excited about the proposed deal and said he would definitely take it.
“I thank the Grace every day. I could not believe it when they contacted my through my Facebook account.

“It is a great pleasure to get such a platform. For me as a brand as it shows I am not only being recognised in the country but also outside the country’s borders,” he said.

The comedian, whose real name is Lungelo Gina, switched focus to his loyal fans and thanked them for propelling him to the top with their support.
“I am grateful for the support I am getting, it inspires me to grow and move in the right direction of wanting to do even more.

“Their support played a role in me getting recognition from the South African entertainment scene,” he said.
While unpacking the deal, the comical man said he still did not have the finer details as he was yet to meet Ndlovu in person. However, he did say it would benefit him financially and in terms of exposure.
