MBABANE - “The question is not who is going to let me; it is who is going to stop me?”

This popular quote by Ayn Rand was said by Eswatini-born kasi rapper Sabelo ‘Mjay Jakalaz’ Mabuza while expressing his excitement of having his song played on Netflix series titled ‘Shadow’.

‘Istina’ was played last week on one of the episodes to set the mood for a particular scene. The song was released last year and it made waves throughout South African radio and TV stations.
Mjay Jakalaz said the song was played after internationally acclaimed artist Lova Bernard approached him and recommended that he submitted his song on the series.

“I have been featured on Lova Bernard’s songs so he knows my musical capabilities.
“Immediately after I submitted the song I was called by the producers and they let me know it was approved and will be played on the series,” said the rapper.
‘Shadow’ is about an ex-police officer with a rare inability to feel pain, who strikes out on his own to catch offenders who have eluded Johannesburg police as he is haunted by a tragic loss.

The show features Eswatini-born actress, model and business woman Amanda du Pont, who is one of the main casts.
