MBABANE – Mcolisi Mhlanga is currently in a thanksgiving mood after he survived an attack by a mentally challenged man.

The attack unfolded in the early hours of Sunday morning while the gospel star was still in bed at his parental home at Mhlangatane. Mhlanga, was harshly woken up by a loud bang at around 3:30am and he discovered that his BMW 318ci sedan had been hit by a stone and thus damaging its rear window.

The artist confirmed that a 35-year-old man from the same area came to to his home and stoned his car.
The mentally challenged man said  to be related to the sensational musician.
The disturbing incident took place hardly a month after the sad loss of Mhlanga’s sister and as such the songwriter said this was a tragic moment for him.

Damages

The car is valued at around E80 000 while the damages caused by the man are estimated to be around E7 500.
When the publication approached Mhlanga about the matter he said this was a spiritual battle.

"To me, all that is happening has its spiritual definition. I believe that God knows the kind of  soldier he is preparing in me. It is worth noting that the bigger the anointing, the bigger the devilish attacks expected,” he said.

When asked on what he planned to do about this matter, Mhlanga said he would not be opening a case against the man.
He added that he had already understood and forgiven him for his actions. In addition to this, Mhlanga mentioned that he had already taken the car for repairs in one of the garages in Mbabane.

Sad

“I have started my year on a sad note; this has inspired me to write a song. I want to save more souls and this song will touch lives,” Mhlanga said.
He said he was now a stronger believer and artist than he was before the tragic experiences. He said he caught the man together with a family member who was also woken up by the loud and unusual noise.

Dumisani Manana, who was recently acting as ACASWA President while a member of the disbanded Interim Committee, said Mhlanga needed to be strong in prayer.

“We sympathise with him for what he is currently going through.
“The devil uses many tricks to disturb your progress in life. There might be spiritual forces fighting to stop his progress, and he needs to pray harder,” Manana said.

Manana added that they needed to reconnect with God as gospel artists and communicate with him through prayer.
He further shared that his duty as the acting president was now done as they had already delivered the investigative report together with their resolutions.
Gospel artist, Bishop Maculuve also sympathised with the singer and assured him that the devil would not win this battle.

A neighbour of the artist, Sidumo Masuku, confirmed that the 35-year-old man was mentally challenged and would sometimes become violent.
“I did not witness the incident but I did hear about it. He is not that violent but I have heard he sometimes loses it. I think he needs to be monitored before something worse happens.
