MBABANE – Riding on the immense success of their gqom debut album, Distruction Boyz put on a show at Solani’s Shisanyama last Friday.

The birthday party dedicated to fellow entertainer, Sphamandla, was filled with fun, dance, excitement and constant showers of rain. Despite the heavy rain, the show managed to draw an impressive crowd and it was an event that was instantly enjoyable and everyone danced with legs flailing and arms swinging, once again the vosho dance move dominated lively dance floor.

For most, DJs Boonu, Junior De Rocka, JNR B, Yung Yas, Distruction Boyz, Frenzy, Zulu D and Ayacity sparked excitement with the fireworks they brought on stage during the raving party.

It came as no surprise when DJ Boonu climbed on stage to deliver a second performance soon after the thrilling set by the headliners. The crowd went wild and chanted his name as he showed his class behind the decks.

Famous

The popular DJ from KwaZulu-Natal is famous for producing hit songs such as ‘Uswidi Wodwa’ and ‘Abangani Bami’, a song that featured TV presenter and entertainer Ntando Duma.
However, the moment of truth was when the youthful spinners, Yung Yas and Ayacity, took to the turntables during the early hours of the night and effortlessly pulled the crowds of people onto the dance floor.

The spinners played the best of house and gqom music, with a hint of Amapiano and hip hop tunes.
As the lights dimmed, the crowd grew bigger and experience started to show on stage as DJ Boonu became an instant hit with his music selection and mixing skills.

Smile

The calm and soft spoken spinner would occasionally smile back at the crowd or wave his hand at them while they screamed in excitement each time he put on a hot song.
“I am happy to be here. The main goal was to have fun while also giving music lovers great fun with my selection. The people are warm and we are being treated well,” DJ Boonu said.
