MBABANE – In December, last year, hip hop artist Illa Penboy broke the news on his Facebook account that Cassper Nyovest would be performing in the country on March 30.

According to this initial post and a series of others that followed, the South African artist had already confirmed his participation on the show dubbed Gcwalisa2019.

It is worth noting that Illa Penboy has been annually hosting this event and it is normally called ‘Gcwalisa Mogambo’.
The local rap artist has shared at least three posts about the coming of the hip hop heavyweight and he has even confirmed that 500 early bird tickets were already available at E100 per ticket.

Encouraged

In one of his posts on Facebook, he encouraged fun lovers to quickly buy the tickets as they would be up by 60 per cent later on.
When this publication contacted Illa Penboy last week, he said discussions between his team and that of Cassper Nyovest were going well and that a decision had already been reached between the two camps.

However, the rapper was quick to mention that they were still deciding if Cassper Nyovest should perform at the Gcwalisa2019 event or be slotted in the ‘Feed a Child Tour’, which is set to kick off in February until August this year.

Planning

“We are planning on changing the name of the event but nothing has been concluded yet I am still to discuss this further with my team,” he said.
The name-changing move came to light after this reporter asked if Cassper Nyovest was aware that the Gcwalisa2019 was similar to his ‘Fillup’ idea, in which, in South Africa, he has gone as far as asking other artists to stop using it for their shows as he claims this initiative was registered under his name.

However, on the other hand, the management which is responsible for Cassper Nyovest’s bookings said it was not true that the popular artist had been booked to perform in the country.

Last Wednesday, this reported contacted the South African artist on his Facebook account, where a questionnaire was shared through the inbox feature.
In response, the artist shared the email Nyovest@gmail.com and asked the questionnaire to be sent there.
