SIHHOYE – Renowned gospel artist Sipho Makhabane will be shaking three stages during the crossover night.

The energetic and multi-talented musician will start in the country where he is expected to entertain thousands of music lovers at the Gawuzela crossover hosted by Umlilo Music. Thereafter, he will leave the country to perform in two venues in KwaZulu-Natal. He said these bookings were confirmed and he was geared up for them. “I will start in Eswatini because my group, Mpumalanga praise, is booked to perform at Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre and I will be there to support them and also perform and then from there I will travel to Mandini in KwaZulu-Natal and lastly Durban,” Makhabane said.

He added that he was grateful for the love he has continued to enjoy in the music industry. When asked about the booking at Mayaluka Stadium at the crossover show being hosted by Timothy Myeni and Elias Shongwe, Makhabane said he was aware his name was being mentioned among those who are expected to perform, however, he said nothing has been finalised therefore he had nothing much to say about this specific booking.

Success

Meanwhile, with all the success and a legendary brand across the globe, Makhabane has not forgotten where he comes from. In his musical journey that spans over 30 years, the celebrated gospel artist has not only won the hearts of many souls but also a litany of accolades through his music and mentorship skills. The South Africa-based artist has discovered and nurtured a number of the big names in the gospel music industry. However, this has not made the gospel muso forget about his roots in the Hhohho region and last Thursday afternoon, he teamed up with businessman Comfort Matsebula to donate food parcels to the elderly people from Sihhoye. Matsebula runs a construction company and is also from Sihhoye.

Makhabane and Matsebula were making a return to this area as they were there in January to donate food parcels to over 100 elderly people. Last Thursday the duo teamed up again and donated food parcels and money in cash to 50 elderly people. The food items included 10kg bags of rice, 10kg bag of mealie meal, sugar, meat, bread and cooking oil, for each elderly person.
