After spending sometime overseas, it looks like Tendaness has secured a home where music lovers will have a feel of his music and mixing skills.

He is not only just a DJ but he is a producer and has produced one of the best hit songs titled ‘Jika’, that has been making waves in our neighbouring countries and we are still jamming to it.

DJ Tendaness takes GCWALA into his musical journey, and one of the projects that will play a huge role in the media and the modelling industry.

Who is Dj Tendaness?

Tatenda Bonginkhosi Mambaza who is a DJ and a producer.

How was your experience in producing one of the biggest songs (Jika)?
It was a great time making the song. It was a collaborative effort between myself, Bholoja and LO. We got in studio and just had a good time. It actually sounded like a hip hop song at first. Then I added a little twist to it at a later stage and Jika came to life.

How did you become a producer since you were a DJ?

I was a DJ before anything but I felt I needed to take things to the next level. So I got into production. I’ve been producing for a very long time but I took my time so I could perfect my craft.

You were once out of the country, has that journey improved your love for music?
There’s so much going on out there. Being overseas really opened up my mind in a major way, and it really helped me sharpen my craft.

How will the Tendamix record help improve the music industry?

Tendamix is a record label that was founded back in 2011 by Tendaness. Through the years we’ve been able to host exclusive events and create unique merchandise for the brand. Recently we did a photo shoot for our newest line of merchandise, and we were able to provide a platform for new and upcoming models to showcase the merchandise. We strive to provide such platforms for upcoming talent.

The core of Tendamix is the music and it wouldn’t be here without the music. We will ensure that we always provide the people with quality music. The aim is to continue to make new music and become one of the greatest DJ/producers in the world.

What feeds your creativity?

I guess it’s whatever is going on at that particular time. It can be anything. I can literally be talking to someone and suddenly feel inspired. I guess that’s what makes creativity exciting.

What is the whole main concept behind the merchandise?
The merchandise is the official merchandise for the Tendamix Night series. Tendamix night is a new DJ residency for Tendaness at Solani’s. Tendamix Night second edition will take place on November 30, 2018. Tickets available at Ocean Basket Mbabane and Ezulwini & Sdeez Manzini. E70 pre-sale and E100 at the door.

ABOUT THE TENDAMIX

The brand new DJ residency for Tendaness is a new concept he came up with, as he embarks on a journey to build a strong relationship with his fans in the country.
DJ residencies are common in places like Las Vegas, US and Ibiza, Spain where venues partner with artists to bring a special night at their venue every month or week for a particular period of time.

For example, Black Coffee has a night at Club Hï in Ibiza, Spain currently, where he has complete control over event production and the supporting acts he invites on his nights.
“We wanted to bring this culture to Eswatini and felt that Solani’s would be the best place to start such a movement. I am excited to start this journey with all of you, make sure you attend,” Tendaness said.

He added that each Tendamix Night will be uniquely designed and will bring the fans very high end event production in terms of lighting, stage, audio and visuals, as well as special guest performances from acts in the local and international scene.
