Pageantry expert and Former Miss Swaziland Vinah Mamba-Gray said Miss World pageants are only joined by countries whose organisers are privately owned.

“Ever since Miss Eswatini went parastatal, none of the beauty queens have attended the Miss World as it looks like it will be like that for as long as the pageant is a parastatal,” said Mamba.

She explained to this publication that Miss World is a privately owned entity and they demand that only privately owned pageants participate with them.
