MBABANE – Talented Visual Artist/Interior Designer Banele Khoza is changing the face of the art industry in South Africa.

The Hlatikhulu-born Curator and BKhz Gallery owner recently opened an art gallery in Braamfontein and the opening ceremony attracted the Top Billing crew.
The 24-year-old, who is now based in Pretoria, had two openings with the first one covered by Top Billing and was attended by close friends, family and supporters.

Khoza, who designed the interior look for Win A Home on SABC 3 in 2017 (Viewer’s Choice Award Winner with Tshepo Sealetsa), said the event was a great success.

Top Billing aired the episodes in his gallery on Saturday and Sunday. However, he said those who did not get the chance to watch should not panic as the episodes will be available on YouTube this coming Friday.

Affirmation

“Top Billing fed my dreams when I was growing and aspired to achieve a dream of that level. At only 24 to be able to do that has been an affirmation that my dreams are valid and also that I need to continue with my soul’s purpose,” he said.
Talking about his gallery, he said the space was for everyone and not just him.

“It is the soil that affirms and nurtures people’s dreams,” he described the art gallery.
The new gallery and studio is situated at 68 Juta Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg. He said it was a 12-year-old dream.
Khoza recently hosted a solo exhibition at Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa in Cape Town. The exhibition opened in April and came down this month.
