MUSICIAN ‘TRUMPET’ TO HOST ‘THIS IS WHO I AM’ SHOW

MBABANE – The art of music is one platform that encourages genuine storytelling as a form of self-expression.

Siyabonga Gama, popularly known as Trumpet, hosted a show at the Swaziland Theatre Club dubbed ‘This is who I am’ on July 28, 2018.
Trumpet is an Afro Soul and R&B musician who occasionally dips into the poetry pool. Having been a musician for five years, Trumpet has performed at different events including birthday parties, weddings as well as festivals including the biggest one in the country, the MTN BUSHFIRE Festival.
This time around, he organised his own show for music lovers in the Kingdom of Eswatini.

Kicking off the show was trio Tribe New which gave an energetic performance that set the mood for the entire night. Gospel music rapper Skeel followed and gave a stellar rendition of his song ‘Uyangisebentela’.

The man of the night, Trumpet, mounted the stage later on in the night and gave a soulful performance of his songs including ‘Sthandwa Sami’ and ‘Sengiyahamba’.

As promised, the funds collected will be going towards Trumpet’s youth empowerment organisation called ‘Poetic Sounds’ which has been working towards providing inspiration for young people through poetry, music and theatre.
