MANZINI – In every situation there is hope. This is the story of Mduduzi ‘Gawuzela’ Simelane’s son, Zweli.
On April 2 this year, Zweli was involved in an accident that left him without a leg.

This was after the top gospel artist’s son had his leg crushed by a moving train at Siphofaneni area at Phuzumoya Railway Station. He spent close to two months undergoing treatment at the Raleigh Fitkin Memorial (RFM) Hospital in Manzini.

When he was discharged, he could no longer walk, and had to use a wheelchair and crutches to move around. Now the Mduduzi Nezinceku Zamagawugawu member can smile again as he will soon be able to walk with the help of a prosthetic leg. All thanks to Philani Maswati Charity Organisation, through its Chairperson Lutfo Dlamini.

During the Eswatini Biggest Braai held last Sunday at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre, Dlamini announced that before the end of the year, Zweli would be back on his feet.
Dlamini said Gawuzela’s son would be given an artificial leg. This costs between E50 000 and E650 000 depending on the type one chooses.

Just before Mduduzi Nezinceku Zamagawugawu went off stage after performing for more than an hour, Dlamini went on stage as he wanted to address the choir.
Zweli who accompanied the group was in his wheelchair and clearly unaware of the donation that was about to be announced.
Dlamini continued and said; ,“Zweli is my son and we have seen his contribution in the gospel music industry.

In life when something happens there is always a reason. God knew that Zweli would go through such a difficult time. However as Philani Maswati we can confirm that before the end of the year, he will be walking again as we will purchase an artificial leg for him.”
Dlamini did not mention the exact cost or type of the artificial leg to be purchased, but insisted that it would be given to him before the end of the year.
