BUYING THE RIGHT NECKTIE

Neckties may be just small pieces that can be easily overlooked when buying formal clothes. Just like socks; you hardly pay attention to the detail when making a buying decision yet, as I  always say,  even the smallest detail in your outfit has an effect on the final look. Today’s focus is on neckties: simply defined as long pieces of cloth, worn by men for decorative purposes around the neck: resting under the shirt collar and knotted at the throat.

Size: Big is now a thing of the past! When going for any neck piece, no matter how beautiful is it, always settle for slim and small sizes. Neckties are basically accessories. Therefore, too much detail in your outfit would spoil the moment.

Design: The design in any type of a tie is important. Factors to consider include the amount of detail and type of material used. Ties are usually made out of silk, polyester and cotton or a mixture of fabrics.
There are also ties made out of wool and velvet. However, these are not common. As much as they are not popular, you can add them on your collection to make a bolder fashion statement. Tap into the ‘not so popular’ styles to create your own individuality.

Types: Knowing the types of ties that you can have is important in the sense that you will know what is ideal for your style as well as what you can tap into to create more options for yourself. The different types include bolo tie: a necktie consisting of a piece of cord or braided leather with decorative metal tips.
Bolo ties are for making a fashion statement in special events such as weddings and gala dinners. Bolo ties are not to be worn every now and then. Bow ties will always bring that detail of a ribbon in your neck area.
They are also decorative and small enough to bring a notable detail into your outfit. Just like a bolo tie, bow ties are for special occasions.
