MBABANE – Artists and church praise teams are invited to participate in a practical workshop on music to be facilitated by MTN Joyous Celebration co-founder Jabu Hlongwane on June 23.

The workshop will be hosted in Ezulwini by Destiny Group, supported by MTN Swaziland and other partners as a build-up to the MTN Joyous Celebration 22 live event on July 7, 2018.
This was confirmed by Destiny Group Director Tom Lin in a press release last Friday.

The workshop is a follow-up to the successful one the partners hosted in 2015, in which Hlongwane taught on the theory of music and promised to return for another session that would be practical.
“We are pleased to announce that the workshop will take place on June 23 at MTN Swaziland’s auditorium. Participation will cost E160 per person. What is important to note is that Pastor Hlongwane will come with music instruments and a band to teach the practicals of music as well,” he said.

Lin expressed gratitude to MTN Swaziland for supporting the capacity building of local artists and said he believed the workshop would go a long way in imparting a variety of skills to Eswatini musicians.
“Pastor Hlongwane has been in the music industry for over two decades and has won numerous awards with MTN Joyous, including this past South African Music Awards (SAMA). MTN Joyous Celebration is known for identifying and nurturing some of the best talent in Africa, and we hope to have some of this knowledge imparted to us as well,” he said.

Hlongwane has also just recently released his own solo project dubbed ‘Cross Power Experience 3’.
To register, people can contact Destiny Group administrator at 2404 1604 or 7631 2406.

The workshop will start at 10am until 5pm, with refreshments also being a part of the package. In 2015, the workshop attracted a full crowd at the MTN auditorium.
Some of the topics expected to be covered include songwriting, song arrangement, stage presentation, instruments, vocals and many more.
