MANZINI – Eswatini Biggest Braai is following its name.

Members of the public have shown keen interest in the event as they have purchased over 400 tickets already. This was revealed during the launch held at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre last Friday. This has been described as something that was happening for the first time in the history of the event. Last year, over 8 000 people attended the Eswatini’s Biggest Braai and this year Philani Maswati is looking at hosting at least 10 000 people. This will be the event’s fourth edition. This year’s event will be held at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre, the same place where it was held last year. Lutfo Dlamini, Chairperson of Philani Maswati Charity Organisation, said they had seen the potential of the event growing and becoming something bigger and better and they were looking at improving it.

Dlamini said the concept had been growing, as last year there were over 8 000 people who attended. “What excites us most is the fact that already people have started buying the tickets. Just today we sold over 400 tickets. This shows that Swatis appreciate their own thing”. Dlamini thanked all the companies who have been supporting this initiative, saying the concept would have not grown if it was not for them. “We are happy to say most of the companies that had had partnered with us last year have done the same even this year. We have other companies that have joined. This is indeed a good thing which we appreciate. We call other partners to do likewise,” he said. On another note, Her Majesty the Indlovukazi is happy about the success of the Eswatini Biggest Braai. Speaking on behalf of the Queen Mother was Phiwayinkhosi Mabuza, who is the Minster of Housing and Urban Development, who said it was exciting to see more people turning up for the event.

Her Majesty went on to urge the nation, especially companies to support this initiative, saying their support goes a long way in helping the needy people of this country. The Philani Maswati chairperson also revealed that there were famous artists who would be attending the event, so music lovers should come in numbers to enjoy themselves. “Meat will be plenty, so people should come prepared to enjoy themselves throughout.”
