WEDNESDAY NIGHT COMEDY OUTRAGEOUSLY HILARIOUS!

MBABANE – Nothing beats a good laughter after a long stressful day.  Nothing is ever foolproof, and even the most successful comedians suffer dud audiences. But as unpredictable as it may be, Sifiso Nene wouldn’t have it any other way as he was back in Swaziland for his ‘Wednesday night comedy’ as a headline act.

The Theatre Club in Mbabane came alive on Wednesday night when over 150 comedy lovers attended the ‘Wednesday night comedy’ show, courtesy of The Funny Buziness.
Elfoe, who was the MC of the night, started off the show on a high note as he warmed the audience with a few jokes before he introduced the first act of the night, who was local female comedian Mandy.

Ready to take the crowd on a rib cracking rollercoaster, Mandy took over the stage and delivered a 20 minutes joke-filled performance that the crowd clearly enjoyed, as they couldn’t hold back their laughter at the time she was on stage.
After her set, Elfoe then took the opportunity to introduce Ndosh, who got the crowd a bit tense with his jokes. However, they laughed at every single joke that he delivered, but one could not ignore the ‘awkwardness’ that some of the jokes had. His jokes were mostly on the current news that has been making headlines, including that of the Anti-Corruption Commission’s missing Golf six. Ndosh spiced up his performance with music that he played every now and then to give substance to what he was talking about.

Next on stage was Mdura, who made a startling grand entrance and further explained that he had always wanted to make an entrance like how the WWE raw wrestling champions did, but the audience wouldn’t take him seriously because of his body size and that he did not own any wrestling undies.

Minutes within his performance, Mdura took out a toy gun that he swayed around the hall, warning those who did not laugh at his jokes. He explained how difficult of a job it was for comedians to satisfy the audience with good jokes because they expected a lot from them.

“You guys paid to be here, so you might as well laugh, laugh your lungs out, make sure you laugh your money away and remember I have this (pointing the toy gun and swaying it around),” said Mdura. His set lasted a good 30 minutes before the show’s headline artist took over.

Speaking to Sifiso Nene about his return to Swaziland and how he felt about his performance, he said that he always got excited about returning back to the country as he had built with the local comedians.
“It is good to watch other comedians grow in the industry, especially young people. Swaziland has phenomenal talent and I cannot wait to come back for my one man show,” said Nene.
He further said when one performs in the language understood by many, one was guaranteed an audience and because iSiZulu is almost like SiSwati, it made it easier for him to come back and perform in the country because the audience here understood him.
