MBABANE – What a night of music diversity! The inaugural Mhlambanyatsi Fun Fair labelled and defined the real definition of the different music genres.

Performances that were rendered were from house music, to jazz, gospel, soul, reggae and country music. This was last Saturday at In The Woods (former Mhlambanyatsi Club).

The renditions that were made entertained the over 400 people who embraced this new initiative by internationally acclaimed artist Mbongiseni ‘Bholoja’ Ngubane who also resides at Mhlambanyatsi.

Performances started at 6pm, with Blu Lamp, Bholoja’s official band which hails from Mbombela in South Africa. They played jazz sounds until 8pm, when gospel artists from Swazi Praise took over the show.

Banele Dlamini stole the show with her vibey  dance infused gospel sound. Her song ‘Endleleni’ literally stole the hearts of many. The crowd screamed for an ‘encore’ when she exited the stage and she obliged, as she continued performing. On the other hand, the ‘Khulu’ugcobo’ hit maker, Nothando Hlophe, sent the crowd to worship with her deep worship songs which were enhanced by her strong and rich voice.

The Delux band and Cleopatra brought back the jazz and country music sounds to the intimate and happy crowd.
The South African boy band, The Muffinz, entered the stage after 11.30pm and they proved their worth.
They performed only four songs, which included their hit songs ‘Imisebenzi’, ‘Do What You Love’ and ‘Sound Check.

Their rendition was so heartfelt such that people stood on their feet and allowed the wave of emotions to engulf the venue. Bholoja took over the stage after 12.15am and did what he is known for, which is great ethnic guitar sounds .
