MBABANE – Anticipation without delivery can cause heartache!  The legendary jazz artist Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse was no show for his performance which was scheduled at the inaugural ‘Gospel Meets Jazz’ Show at Happy Valley last Saturday.

This unique concept was hosted by Indibano Jazz Club and Leserato Events. Leserato is an entertainment entity which is mainly known for hosting gospel shows and managing gospel artists.
While on the other hand, Indibano is a conglomeration of jazz lovers who unite for the love of jazz music.
The organisers of the show, as well as Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse, issued a joint statement explaining the multi award winning musician’s absence at the show.

Hotstix, who had initially been  booked to come with his full band, withdrew from the show at the last minute due to miscommunication between himself and the Indibano Jazz team.
The ‘Burn Out’ hit maker confessed that he could not make it to the show without his full band because it was going to compromise the quality of his performance.

In the statement, Hotstix, who considers Swaziland his second home said his heart had been in the show.
He said he did not want to seem like he was taking his Swazi fans for granted by delivering a below par performance, and  without his live band that’s exactly what would have happened.
