EZULWINI – Being among the top 12 of the aspiring Miss Cultural Heritage beauty queens means being connected through Swazi Mobile.

The aspiring top 12 that was picked on Saturday during the elimination held at the Emfuleni Lifestyle will all receive free phones and Swazi Mobile sim cards. On top of that they will be given a package lasting for 12 months. The good news was delivered by Khulile Dlamini, the company’s Head of Marketing.  The company is among the sponsors that have contributed towards making the Swazi cultural pageant a success. Before announcing the sponsorship that brought smiles to the girls, the committee responsible for the pageant took time to eliminate the girls from 22 to 12. They were asked to parade and conduct traditional dances before being asked questions. It was after the questions that the elimination was conducted.  All 22 girls were asked how they would change the lives of other girls if they won the pageant.  Soon after the committee had completed the eliminations, the top 12 was called to the front and Swazi Mobile was asked to unveil its sponsorship.

Dlamini mentioned that Swazi Mobile was happy to be part of the main sponsors adding that this was a programme they supported.  He said they will be monitoring the pageant closely and would consider being part of the project even in future. As he shared the news, the top 12 girls who were standing in front smiled throughout. Actually they were hoping that the phones would be given to them as soon as the sponsorship was announced. However, that never happened as they were told that they would only get their prizes on the day of the finals.  Swazi Mobile made an offer of being a communication partner during the event.  Stanley Dlamini Swaziland National Council of Arts and Culture (SNCAC) Chief Executive Officer thanked the company for being a partner in the event.

He said what the company had done was a sign that they are committed to uplifting the culture of the country. Dlamini also thanked other partners who have also played a major role in making sure that the event becomes a success.  “Without all the partners we have, the event would not have been at the stage it’s at now.  We are all looking forward to the finals on October 28. This is an event not to be missed,” he said.  The CEO also congratulated the participants who made it into the top 12 saying it was time they focus as the finals were close. “Let us all support them. If there are certain individuals that need us at this point in time, it is these finalists,” he said. The finals will take place at the Happy Valley Hotel.
