MBABANE – Artists performing in the Swaziland International Trade Fair’s Gospel Sundays will be paid handsomely.

The Association of Christian Artists in Swaziland (ACASWA) put up a sum of E96 000 to be shared by the artists who will perform in this year’s two Gospel Sundays.
The first show will be held this Sunday while the second one is scheduled for next Sunday.

ACASWA has been tasked by the Swaziland Investment Promotions Authority (SIPA) to coordinate both Gospel Sundays.
ACASWA and SIPA had earlier on released a list of 16 artists that will participate in the both shows.

Information gathered is that out of all the artists which will perform on both Sundays, only 13 of them will benefit from the E96 000.
The rest of the artists that will perform will have their expenses catered for by ACASWA.Among the 13 artists that will share the E96 000 is Nduduzo Matse, Shongwe and Khuphuka Saved Group, Phathwakahle and Nothando Hlophe. Others are Apostle Vusi Maculuve, Shiba and Travellers, Come to Jesus, Police Gospel Messengers, Pastor T Myeni, Amadodana Ase-Mthombe, Gcina Masuku and Nkosingiphile Nensali KaJehova.

Terence Matse, ACASWA Deputy President confirmed that only the 13 artists will share the money given to them by SIPA.
“The money we have is only enough for 13 artists. The rest will be taken care of the association,” he said.
Matse said the artists to perform during both Gospel Sundays will now be more than 16.

“As an association, we decided to add more artists. We thought as an association we need to give other artists the platform of showcasing their talent and music and it is the reason why we thought we should add more artists,” he said.
