ALL SET FOR OLD MUTUAL’S 40TH CHOIR FESTIVAL

MBABANE – It’s time to celebrate four decades of vocal prowess with the Old Mutual festival.


Celebrating 40 years of greatness in choral music, music lovers across Southern Africa have the opportunity to experience world class performances at the Old Mutual National Choir Festival.


The 40th anniversary of this legendary choral music competition kicks off on August 5.
While the festival will begin in Bloemfontein, South Africa at the Sand Du Plesiss Theatre, the country will play host next with its eliminations held at Esibayeni Lodge on August 13.


Expected to compete during the eliminations are 13 local choirs which will be competing in both the standard and the large section.
These choirs include His Majesty’s Correctional Services, Mbabane Methodist Church Choir, Manzini Choir, Royal Swaziland Police Choir and Sweet Sounds.

The others who are also expected to compete are the Royal Swazi Spa Choir, Florence Catholic Church Choir, Lobamba Choristers and Sishayingoma Choristers.
Old Mutual Sponsorship Manager, Bandile Mngoma.said they were more than ready to bring what would be the best celebration of the festival.
“The Old Mutual National Choir Festival is set to wow audiences like never before.


‘‘This music extravaganza is renowned for its powerful embodiment of sheer passion, hard work, perseverance, sacrifice and unity by organisers, participants, audiences and communities across Southern Africa,” he said.
