MBABANE – Secure your seat today for the first ever MTN SWAMA Awards or you will be suffering from FOMO while catching them live on your Facebook feed from people who will be posting their outfits of the night.

The MTN SWAMA Music Awards slated for August 5, 2017 at the 500-seater Royal Swazi Convention Centre are attracting huge public interest as 100 tickets have been sold on the first day of ticket sales.
This figure was revealed by the chairman of the MTN SWAMA MAs organising committee Melusi ‘Zox’ Dlamini, who described the uptake as phenomenal.

“This is phenomenal. 103 tickets were bought last week Friday, which was the first day we made tickets available. What is interesting is that 60 per cent of these were actually pre booked by Swazi music lovers in other towns throughout the country outside Mbabane and Manzini, something which is indicative of how big this event is,” said Dlamini.
The tickets to the awards night are being sold at MTN Service Centres in Mbabane and Manzini.

Dlamini urged members of the public to make haste and buy the remaining tickets advisably this week given that they were limited.
“The public will appreciate that our venue has a limited capacity; hence it would be good planning to buy tickets to the event anytime this week to avoid disappointment. More tickets were sold over the weekend actually but people should not panic as we still have close to 200 still available,” said Dlamini.

The inaugural MTN SWAMA MAs have attracted a lot of interest right from the launch early February this year. The journey to the main event was prologued by a nomination period where members of the public nominated their favourite artists for various categories, which ended on April 30, 2017.

This was followed by a verification and vetting process which saw successful nominees being announced on June 3, 2017 at a glamorous event which was held at Déjà vu Lounge, at Esibayeni Lodge. The process was followed by a public voting process, which is on-going.
Voting is scheduled to end on July 31, 2017. The awards are sponsored by Swazi MTN to the value of E500 000, which is the biggest sponsorship for any awards show in the country.
