MBABANE – Finally the SNCAC Board has taken a stand on the ongoing feud between ACASWA and SWAMA over the MTN SWAMA Awards.

An urgent board meeting was called on Tuesday night where the Swaziland National Council of Arts and Culture (SNCAC) Board headed by Busisiwe Simelane summoned both the Association of Christian Artists in Swaziland (ACASWA) and the Swaziland Arts and Music Association (SWAMA), as the board wanted to understand the differences between the two associations.

At the bone of contention was the fact that despite agreeing that the Gospel Category be renamed as the Faith category, SWAMA continued with the latter.

Present during the meeting were both associations’ representatives.
The board resolved that the feud between the two associations should come to an end with immediate effect to ensure smooth running of the awards.

The board made it clear that the awards should continue as planned as they are in support of them. However, it was emphasised that they should be held between now and July 2017, not  beyond the said month.

This means SWAMA who is the host of the awards has between now and July to make sure that all is in place for the awards to take place.
The association was also told that they should stick to the resolutions they agreed to earlier in the year, whereby it was agreed on how best their awards would be handled.
