MBABANE – Gospel music fanatics should not bother bringing their own firecrackers during the upcoming Umlilo/Dups Direct Gospel Crossover gig as they have been banned.

The annual gospel music festival is being organised by Mduduzi Simelane of Izinceku Zamagawugawu who is the director of Umlilo Music.
Unlike in previous years, those who will be attending the show have been warned not to bother bringing them to the event.

The organisers in conjunction with the Royal Swaziland Police said they noticed during the previous shows that the firecrackers were becoming dangerous and therefore they thought it would be proper to ban the music lovers.

Decision

Simelane said after looking at the matter closely, they reached a decision of stopping all gospel music lovers from bringing the firecrackers.
“Last year, we noticed that the firecrackers were not safe to the audience.

Some people were almost injured during the show. We then felt we should ban everyone from bringing their own.”
He said instead they would get a professional company that would display the crackers on the night.

Police Information and Communications Officer Khulani Mamba confirmed that they were in support of this decision.

instructions

“We will try by all means to make sure that everyone is safe. Our presence will be visible and as it has been said, we expect the public to take all instructions so that they can be safe.”
During the show, Joyous Celebration stars Ayanda Shange and Siphumelele Mambo will be part of the 30 gospel artists that will be performing.
The two artists will be joined by Deborah Fraiser and Donny Ngwenyama.
