SUPPLIERS SUPPORT INITIATIVE
EZULWINI – Since the launch of the market price reference catalogue in January, feedback from suppliers have been invaluable they reportedly support this initiative.
This was shared by the Director of Supply Chain in the Ministry of Finance, Nkululeko Dlamini, during the engagement with procuring entities representatives at SibaneSami Hotel yesterday.

Dlamini said, following the launch, they undertook a critical phase of engaging suppliers of common use goods. He said this engagement was essential to ensure that government suppliers understood the importance and the benefits of the Market Price Reference Catalogue. Dlamini said they discussed its role in fostering fair competition, reducing the potential for overpricing and ultimately ensuring better value for public funds.According to the Eswatini Public Procurement Act 2011, common use items are any goods, works or services required by more than one requesting entity, for which government can obtain greater efficiency and value for money through centralised purchasing.
Implementing
Chief Executive Officer of ESPPRA, Vusumutiwendvodza Matsebula, also spoke at the event, acknowledging the crucial role of public procurement practitioners in implementing the MPRC. He expressed confidence that, with their cooperation, procuring entities would seamlessly adopt and utilise the catalogue, ensuring its success in achieving its intended goals.
