EWSC INVESTS IN ADVANCED LEAKAGE DETECTION

MBABANE – The Eswatini Water Services Corporation (EWSC) is investing in advanced leakage detection technology and the Moglobe Investments and LRDM Group SA joint venture is set to provide such service.

According to the intention to award tender notice published in the Eswatini Public Procurement Regulatory Agency (ESPPRA), the proposed contract for this tender is E3 016 000.
During the competitive bidding process, Moglobe Investments and LRDM Group SA scored 95 per cent to emerge the best evaluated bidder to beat three other companies.

The other contesting companies were SAMO Telecoms, scoring 62 per cent, second ranked tenderer, offered price higher than 1st ranked tenderer, Inner sat and Inner works Joint Venture and Lomhlangano Investments were both technically non-responsive. The Corporation is currently faced with several challenges in the detection and management of leaks, especially those that are below ground. Conventional leakage detection technologies have not yielded the desired results due low skills level and the time it requires for the effective implementation of such technologies in our networks. Therefore there was a need to explore advanced leakage detection technology.
