TRACTORS, TRUCKS IN E1.5M RES AUCTION

MBABANE – Tractors and trucks headline old agricultural equipment that is being sold by a sealed bid auction.

The auctioneer is Royal Eswatini Sugar Corporation. The latter is widely known as RES Corporation. A 2009 Tractor Massey Fergusson 6495, which is a runner, is the main attraction with a reserve price of E250 000. Several tractors from New Holland and Landini make will also go under the hammer.

There is also a 1997 fire fighter truck worth E125 000.

Several others items that include brush cutters, disc ploughs, compressors, forklifts, boom sprayers, cane bin trailers and water tanks, to mention but a few are also up for grabs.

The items’ combined reserve prices are over E1.59 million.

The items to be auctioned were open for physical viewing only by appointment yesterday. They are being sold for various reasons. They include being no longer in use and going beyond their economic useful life.

Completed and signed bid forms must be submitted before 9am next Monday (November 30) to Auction@res.co.szb. 

“Should you wish to bid for more than one lot, you must complete a separate bid form for each lot. 

“The highest offer for each item will be treated as the successful bid, provided the offer is equal to or above the reserve price,” reads the bid document. The successful bidder shall be required to pay either at the Mhlume or Simunye Pay Offices within seven working days after his/her bid has been accepted in writing. 

The Purchaser will be required to make full payment by December 10 this year at any RES cash office after obtaining a tax invoice from the sales and marketing department.

Meanwhile, a sealed-bid auction is one in which all bidders simultaneously submit sealed bids to the auctioneer. Sealed bid refers to a written bid placed in a sealed envelope.
