TOUGH CONTEST IN SRA CATERING TENDER

 MBABANE – The Eswatini Revenue Authority (SRA) canteen catering services tender stands to be awarded to Cafe 360.


In tender results issued by the Eswatini Public Procurement (ESPPRA) reflect that the company tied with Jazz Friends Restaurant at 86 per cent on total evaluation score. The tender evaluation exercise was undertaken in accordance with the Public Procurement Act of 2011.


The difference between the competing companies in the highly contested tender where there were only three evaluated tenderers was the price list by the contenders. There was no fixed proposed contract price.

The third best evaluated tenderer was Fedics Foods Swaziland (Pty) Ltd which also surpassed the 50 per cent by amassing up to 63 per cent during evaluation.
In line with the procurement act, it was announced that a period of 10 working days would be allowed for the submission of any application for review by the tenderers.

“The contract award decision does not constitute a contract,” reads the intention to award signed off by SRA Tender Board Chairperson Lovemore Magagula.
Most recently, SRA disclosed that it intends to benchmark their salaries with other public and private sector entities.


According to Shopify, Benchmarking is a process of measuring the performance of a company’s products, services, or processes against those of another business considered to be the best in the industry, also known as “best in class.”

The point of benchmarking is to identify internal opportunities for improvement.
In the process of benchmarking their salaries, the authority said it would use the market- based approach to design ERA’s remuneration structures (management, non-management and Scarce Skills remuneration structures).

The institution issued an expression of interest to interested companies to conduct the salary benchmarking with comparable public and private sector entities.

In the request for proposal, it was explained that the outcome of the exercise would be to come up with remuneration structures aligned to their task job grade structure.
