MBABANE –Tender loss! Swazi Spa Holdings Limited has terminated its landscaping services contract with Servest Swaziland (PTY) Limited.

Servest Swaziland (PTY) Limited has been rendering landscaping services to Swazi Spa Holdings Limited the past five years.
It was, among other duties, responsible for maintaining golf course and gardens.

“The Tender Committee thanks you and your team for the interest in providing Swazi Spa Holdings with landscaping services as per your proposal and subsequent presentation.

“We, however, regret to inform you that your proposal was not successful,” reads part of the letter written by the hotels’ Area General Manager, Lance Rossouw.

“We thank you for the services rendered over the past five years and further wish you every success in your future endeavor,” stated the hotels’ area manager.
Servest Swaziland (PTY) Limited is the company that was contracted to maintain greens at Ezulwini Royal Swazi Spa, Sharma House and Conco premises.
The company is reported to be closing shop in the country after losing the Swazi Spa Holdings landscaping tender which it claimed was its major client.

The management is further alleged to have also written letters to some of the employees informing them that it was terminating their employment.
About 40 employees of the company have since filed an urgent application in the Industrial where they are seeking an order directing a deputy sheriff to attach movable or non-movable property of the company to the value of E1 769 031.62.

Served

This comes after some of the employees were allegedly served with letters of termination of their employment with the company.
According to the employees, the company was closing shop in the country because it had lost a major contractor in the Ezulwini Royal Swazi Spa and Hotel. “Following receipt of contract termination from client (Golf course and Garden maintenance), we request an urgent meeting with you as to consult in terms of the Employment Act.
