MBABANE – A multimillion office park and shopping complex being constructed by MA Properties is set to change the outlook of Ezulwini for the better.

The property, which sits on a 8 000 square metres plot opposite Corner Plaza, comprises of 15 double storey office spaces and a retail centre to be operated by OK Foods as anchor tenant. There will be a tenant mix of a restaurant, liqour store, quantity surveyors and project managers among others.

Director Muzi Dlamini explained that they had embarked on the project financed by the Swaziland Building Society (SBS) with intent to develop the outlook of the fast developing town and also diversify the investment portfolio of the MA Group through accumulating rental income. Dlamini said they were highly grateful to SBS for the continued support.

He mentioned that the ultimate objective of the structure to be completed in November would be to improve the Eswatini economy through taxes and providing job opportunities.
Dlamini said the construction works, which are already 60 per cent complete, were awarded to the Mbhilibhi Group while Project Management is undertaken by professionals from MA Consulting Engineers.

Asked to shed light on the viability the project whose value could not immediately be ascertained, Dlamini said they found it prudent to construct and develop the properties owned by MA Properties to realise more value.
“The intention is to aggressively develop all properties owned by MA Properties in order to ensure continued growth and sustainability of the group,” said Dlamini.

In terms of job creation, Dlamini said the construction phase had created approximately 200 temporal jobs for emaSwati. He emphasised that when undertaking the recruitment exercise their priority was to ensure that locals were empowered.
Site Foreman Sanele Maziya said they were grateful to MA Properties for venturing into property development because it had presented them with job opportunities that would help empower them with new skills.
