MBABANE – Auctions continue to be a preferred platform where businesses and individuals purchase items at affordable prices as E2.1 million was raked in within 20 minutes at a motor vehicle auction.

Nearly 30 bidders showed up at the auction where Wesbank disposed of motor vehicles ranging from trucks, bakkies and sedans yesterday.

The auction conducted by Swazi Auctioneers’ Sakhile Ndzimandze had been completed by 10:25am, after having started at 10am at the Wesbank warehouse at Matsapha Industrial Sites at King Mswati III Avenue.

The lowest vehicle bought on the day, whose offer was subject to confirmation by the bank, was a 2013 Kia Picanto, 1.2L – manual that had travelled 100 538 kilometres which was bidded for E50 000, yet the reserve price was E71 000.

Reserve

The priciest vehicle was a 2015 Mercedes Benz Axor; with trailers whose reserve price was E1.3 million but was eventually sold for E1 million after the offer got accepted by the bank.
Bidders who may want to participate at the auction will be expected to pay a refundable deposit of E3 000.

Explaining what could have probably made bidders have interest in the motor vehicle, the auctioneer explained that the vehicles were viable buys considering the fact that they were locals, had low mileages and were in a good running condition.

Ndzimandze wished bidders a merry Christmas and happy New Year.
“We promise to bring more exciting auctions in 2018,” Ndzimandze promised.
