HOSEA – Lobamba Lomdzala MP Marwick Khumalo says some of the elected members of parliament have compromised the truth in parliament because of greediness.

He came short of disclosing the names of such MPs but said "because we respect each other I will not say their names. But I do tell them in Parliament."

He called such MPs "bomavumazonke", which literally transfers to ‘yes men’. The MP was speaking at Hosea Inkhundla during the thanksgiving service and end of year party hosted by the Inkhundla’s MP Mduduzi Mabuza.

"There are people who refuse to question things deliberately, even when something terribly wrong is going on. I’m happy that the people of Hosea have elected a good man with integrity. He calls a spade a spade and what is black, black. Some people in parliament have forgotten that they were elected by the people. When government says this is the direction to take they toe the line without questioning.

"I like MP Mabuza because he speaks the truth in parliament."

MP Khumalo thanked MP Mabuza for donating 400 blankets to the elderly and said he still had the challenge to also buy a kombi to take the frail elderly to hospital when they are sick.

"I have already heard from you that you want to take him back to Parliament. I say he has a challenge to buy the kombi just as is the case for Lobamba Lomdzala Inkhundla. I do not say that he should buy the kombi now, but after you have re-elected him to Parliament because if he would buy the kombi before you re-elect him, that may be dangerous."

MP Khumalo also told the people of Hosea that the Regional Development Fund had not been released this year, which is why many developmental projects were stalling.

The guest speaker, Motshane MP Robert Magongo also warned the MP to love everyone in his constituency. He said MP Mabuza had a challenge to see to it that all homesteads in Hosea have connected to electricity. He also said the people of Hosea Inkhundla must desist from questioning the origin of the MP because that would be cheap politics. "If there are things you don’t understand about him tell him and don’t gossip about it," he said.

MP Magongo said there was nothing wrong with electing the same person into Parliament over and over for the sake of continuity on projects.

Also in attendance were members of parliament from surrounding constituencies such as Gege MP Musa Kunene, Kubuta MP Charles Myeza, Maseyisini MP Small Joe Dlamini and Nkhaba MP Enock Dlamini.

The program director was Thabile Tsabedze, the former lead singer of Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors.
