Creativity Parlour is a Talent Management Establishment which is proudly Swazi and their offices are currently at Ilanga Centre, first floor, office number 4, in Manzini, Swaziland.

Their work involves seeking out, signing, developing and marketing talented artists in the entertainment and performing arts.

One of the artists in their roster is Kasi-Rap Artist, Kena, and below is his profile:

Kena

Hard-worker, ambitious, a performer of art and respects the game

Born AyandaTsela, Kena is a music prodigy with a unique style and creativity and from his own words the originator of Kasi rap music.

It all started in Mobeni in 2004 when he first heard Pro spit, then more inspiration came from someone he personally calls a godfather of Swazi hip-hop, Mil-G.

He then went on to team up with best friend Inborn (Lwazi Khumalo) and they formed a group called 6049. They however had to split because Inborn had to go study in South Africa.

He then formed a group with his schoolmates (Jona, Ncash and Mbiza, Zoo later joined the group as Mbiza’s replacement because he also left for South Africa to study.

They called themselves Ibutho. He left Ibutho to start a solo career resulting in his first solo track ‘What if’ which he says will always be his fav-ourite track.

His first performance was at House on Fire as a poet though. He has performed at: Tinker’s, Mavuso, Theatre Club, at Ngwenya and also at Mhlambanyatsi Club.

Kena has worked with Earthquake (a music group), Ghetto Villa, worked with Ghost (kasiswaggboi), he has also worked with other upcoming artists.

Achievements:

His first single ‘Spotlight’ earned him his first contract in the music industry with Creativity Parlour, a talent management and booking agency.

Kena has also had major success with his second Single ‘Tjovo’ with made it to number 2 in the local music chart, SBIS 2 Top 20, in its 3rd week at number, and it was voted Brema streets anthem in March 2012 at the Brema hip-hop movement group.

Tjovo has gained a lot of momentum with the air-play it has received and the phenomenal fan-base response, building up the excitement towards Kena’s much anticipated debut album "SPOTLIGHT", dropping later this year, produced by Deeflava for Arbitrator Studios in Matsapha.

"Kena has grown tremendously since joining our roaster, as a performer, an entertainer and an artist. He has grown to be a power house in the local industry, & has earned himself the title of ‘MrGinsa Le Rap’.

He is truly a force to be reckoned with, and "I would like to send a heartfelt gratitude to the radio and club DJs who play our music, our wonderful supporter, all everyone who loves and appreciate what we do." – Mpendulo Steven Ndwandwe (Kena’s Manager)

"Life is all about hard-working, determination, loyalty and respect, trust me you will never go wrong"… uya kena mosi?
