MBABANE – Nobuhle Dlamini turned birdies into impact at the SuperSport Ladies Challenge.
Eswatini’s Nobuhle Dlamini is giving back in style. She pledged to donate E100 for every birdie she scores this season to the Nobuhle Dlamini Foundation, which nurtures junior golfers.
After carding 11 birdies in her first tournament, the SuperSports Ladies Challenge, this means E1 100 will go directly to the foundation.
A birdie is when a golfer completes a hole one stroke under par, showing skill by taking fewer shots than expected.
Dlamini finished fourth at the SuperSport Ladies Challenge, held from February 4-6 at Humewood Golf Club in Port Elizabeth, outclassing over 100 professional golfers. Posting rounds of 74, 72 and 71 for a +1 total (217).
She finished behind South Africa’s Casandra Alexander and Nadia van der Westhuizen, highlighting Dlamini’s consistency and composure under testing links-style conditions and strong winds.
“Scoring 11 birdies and supporting young golfers is incredibly rewarding,” Dlamini said. “This is just the start of a season focused on both performance and giving back.”
Germany’s Celina Sattelkau won the tournament after a six-hole playoff with Alexander, finishing at -3 (213), while Van der Westhuizen took third at -1 (215). Dlamini’s showing boosts her Investec Order of Merit points and sets a strong tone for the year ahead.
