MBABANE – Capital city giants Mbabane Highlanders AM FC have made a bold move to bolster their squad despite an unexpected overhaul in their camp.

Highlanders AM are currently in a month-long camp in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, following the takeover of the team by former Betway Premiership side Royal AM boss and flamboyant businesswoman Shauwn  ‘Mamkhize’ Mkhize.

Latest reports, which have been confirmed by the club, suggest that at least eight players out of almost 30 who have travelled with team have been deemed surplus to requirements as preparations for the new season intensify.

The team’s patron and acting spokesperson with a management committee (MC) yet to be appointed Charles Jele, confirmed the number of players released by ‘Black Bull’ but did not provide names..

Reports allege that these players travelled home from Durban yesterday and entered the country via the Lavumisa Border Gate late in the day.

Some of these players reportedly include former Denver Sundowns wing-attacker Wandile Ntshakala, who joined the team at the start of the previous season.
