BIG BEND - Ubombo Sugar Football Club, formerly known as Illovo FC, have announced a new chapter for the club with a significant kit sponsorship deal.

Ubombo Sugar Football Club have embarked on a transformative journey with a significant three-year kit sponsorship deal worth E873 000, equating to E291 000 annually, from Primo.

The announcement was made by Ubombo Sugar’s Finance Lead Mlungisi Mamba, at a vibrant ceremony held at the Ubombo Country Club in Big Bend, which also celebrated the club’s rebranding from Illovo FC to Ubombo Sugar FC. Mamba hailed the occasion as a pivotal moment, marking a bold new chapter for the club. Addressing top officials as well as an enthusiastic crowd of supporters, players and stakeholders, he emphasised that the name change represents far more than a mere rebrand.

“It’s a stronger identity for a team that embody the spirit of our company, our employees and the Big Bend community,” he declared.

The company aims to ignite local pride, stimulate businesses on match days and provide a platform for young talent to shine on a national stage.

Mamba highlighted the unique role of football in Eswatini, stating: “It’s more than a sport—it unites colleagues, neighbours and families, giving us something to rally behind and celebrate together.”

Regarding the Primo-sponsored kit, Mamba outlined flexible payment options. For company employees, a memorandum of understanding enables monthly salary deductions starting from the August 2025 payroll, facilitated by the acting finance operations manager.
