MBABANE – Eswatini’s sensational swimmer, Luca ‘GD6’ Fraser, has set a new personal best (PB) time in the 50m breaststroke event.
His new finishing time is now 31.59 seconds, significantly bettering his previous record of 32.31 seconds.
This impressive feat was achieved at the Cathy Doyle Long Course Championships, currently underway in Gauteng, South Africa (SA), which concludes tomorrow.
The Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games scholarship holder was off to a brilliant start on Thursday. Having recorded a new PB, he qualified for the finals, where he eventually emerged victorious, claiming the gold medal.
This latest development was shared by the Eswatini Swimming Association (ESA) yesterday. Fraser was back in the pool yesterday for the 200m breaststroke.
Today, he is scheduled to compete in the 50m backstroke and the 200m individual medley.
He will finish the championships tomorrow with the 100m breaststroke and the 200m freestyle. At the time of compiling this report, the results from yesterday’s races were not yet available.
