MBABANE – Huge blow!
MTN Premier League rookies Amawele's Asante Fredrick has become the first player suspended this season under the Yellow Card Rule. According to a letter directed to the Msunduza-based club from the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE), through the office of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pat ‘Kungumusa’ Vilakati, Fredrick has accumulated three yellow cards in the five games played so far.
The letter states that, in accordance with the 2025/26 MTN Premier League Rules and Regulations, Article 34.1, the player is therefore automatically suspended from participating in his team’s next fixture.
“Kindly ensure that the said player serves his suspension as stipulated in the rules,” reads part of the letter.
Fredrick will miss his team’s crucial match against Royal Leopard today, which is scheduled to take place at Simunye Stadium, kicking off at 3pm. It is worth mentioning that the team, ‘Tamshana’, as Amawele are famously known in football circles, have also recorded the highest number of red cards this season, with their players shown three marching orders so far.
The Njabulo ‘Kitaza’ Magongo-captained outfit was automatically promoted to the top-flight of local football as runners-up to champions Malanti Chiefs.

Nsingizini Hotspurs Head Coach, Mandla Qhogi reacted to their 0-2 loss to Tabankulu Celtics.
