MBABANE – Blow!
Mbabane Highlanders face a significant setback as they prepare to take on MTN Premier League log leaders Nsingizini Hotspurs this weekend.
Their first-choice goalkeeper, Sisekelo ‘Fashino’ Maseko, will miss the crucial fixture due to suspension after accumulating yellow cards.
The match, a key encounter in the 2025/26 season, will see both sides depleted at the back. Nsingizini Hotspurs will also be without their right-back, Sinenkhosi ‘China’ Dlamini, who is similarly sidelined.
These absences are in line with Article 34.1 of the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Master Rules and Regulations, which governs suspensions for accumulated cautions during the season.
It is worth noting however, that Mthunzi Mamba and Kwanele Lukhele of Tabankulu Celtics served their one-match suspensions in their recent fixture against Rangers.
Nsingizini Hotspurs currently sit atop the MTN Premier League standings, boasting a three-point lead after Young Buffaloes fell to a 0-1 loss to Moneni Pirates.
Meanwhile, Mbabane Highlanders will need to adapt quickly without their reliable shot-stopper Maseko, who has been a key figure since joining on loan, where the ‘Bull’ will rely on their second choice, Sifiso Maseko.
