MBABANE - The inaugural Tri-Nation weekend festival is poised to be a landmark celebration of culture, comedy and music, uniting South Africa, Eswatini and Mozambique.
The event will take place this Easter weekend from April 2 to 5. Hosted at ChafZar Lifestyle, the festival promises a vibrant line-up of entertainment, highlighting the rich artistic talents of the three nations.
Kicking off the festivities on Thursday evening is the Tri-Nations Comedy Night, headlined by South African comedy powerhouse Celeste Ntuli, famously known as the ‘Queen of Zulu Comedy’ and the first local female comic to record a one-woman show DVD.
She will be joined by popular comedians Gogo Eswatini, S’lwane, Mdura, Mduduzi Ntuli, Matewu Bhoza and Gedlembane, ensuring an evening filled with laughter that bridges cultures through humour.
Friday shifts the tone to soulful inspiration with the Tri-Nations Gospel Music Concert starting at 3pm. Gospel luminaries such as Benjamin Dube, Dumi Mkokstad, Nothando Hlophe, Linda Dlamin, and others will take to the stage, promising a spiritually uplifting experience for all attendees.
The weekend continues on Saturday with the Tri-Nations Strictly Soul and RnB Party, featuring DJ Young, Wilson B Nkosi, Sweet Mike, Buhle, DJ Supaman, DJ Ellex and more. This event will deliver smooth grooves and vibrant rhythms, perfect for fans of soul and RnB. The grand finale on Sunday is the highly anticipated Tri-Nations Spin Fest, showcasing top car spinners from South Africa, Eswatini, and Mozambique, including South African spinners Juluka and Big Zenzi, Eswatini’s Lynix and Nathi, and Mozambique’s Gibson Moz and Barba Branca. The day culminates with the Battle of the DJs after Party, featuring DJ Tendaness himself alongside Royal Musiq, Hazina, Belinda Chester and others, blending genres from Amapiano to Marrabenta and Kwaito.
