There is something deeply powerful and sacred about putting pen to paper and pouring your heart out before God.  A petition service is more than just writing down requests; it’s a spiritual act of faith, where individuals submit their needs, desires and burdens to God in full trust that He sees, hears, and answers in His perfect time. Inspired by the story of Hannah in 1 Samuel 1, this service will serve as reminder that even when the answers seem delayed, our worship and thanksgiving move the heart of God.

Moment

This Sunday, June 29, 2025, Gate of Heaven Christian Assembly (GHCA) will be hosting a Petition Service at Nhlangano Central Hall. The service promises to be a spirit-filled moment of worship, thanksgiving, and heartfelt petitions to the Lord. Speaking in an interview, Senior Seer Prophet Joshua Angel, who leads the church, shared that the petition service is a unique opportunity for individuals to bring their personal requests before God by writing them down on paper and submitting them at what he called the table of the Lord.

Themed ‘I am also going to Shiloh to thank the Lord,’ the service is taken from the story of Hannah in 1 Samuel 1:1–28. Prophet Joshua explained, “We are reflecting on Hannah’s journey, her persistence in trusting God even when there was no visible breakthrough. Every year, Elkanah took his family to worship and though Hannah had no child, she still went with a grateful heart, simply saying, ‘Thank you, Lord.’”

Results

He further noted that the service is open to everyone; particularly those who feel burdened by unanswered prayers, life challenges, or a sense of spiritual delay. “It’s not that people will necessarily see instant results,” he clarified, “but like Hannah, who went just to worship and ended up being remembered by God with a child, Samuel, we believe God will honour the faith of those who come with a thankful and trusting heart.”

The focus of the petition service is gratitude, faith and worship, not merely the pursuit of blessings. The church believes that in the atmosphere of praise and surrender, God responds with divine remembrance and breakthrough.

“Let us come to thank the Lord; not just for what He has done, but for who He is,” He added. “In the process of worship, God might just surprise you with what you didn’t even ask for.” All are welcome to attend at Nhlangano Central Hall and witness ‘a divine moment of encounter.’ Come with your heart open, your requests written down, and your spirit ready to praise. God is still in the business of remembering His people.
