SIPHOFANENI – FNB Eswatini has recognised Siphofaneni as one of the country’s fastest-growing economic nodes, officially opening its 13^th branch in the area.

This is part of the bank’s broader strategy to decentralise financial services and drive inclusive growth.

The new branch, located at the rapidly developing Siphofaneni Plaza, places the bank alongside EswatiniBank and Standard Bank Eswatini, which have also recently established a presence in the area — a strong signal of rising commercial confidence in the Lubombo corridor.

Speaking during the official opening ceremony yesterday, FNB Eswatini Chief Executive Officer Thokozani ‘TK’ Dlamini described the milestone as a deliberate move to bring financial services closer to emaSwati, while supporting emerging economic centres.

He expressed gratitude to stakeholders, community members and partners who attended the event, acknowledging the significance of their presence.

“We understand that each of you has demanding responsibilities, and we do not take it lightly that you have taken time to join us. We sincerely appreciate your support.”

Dlamini highlighted that the branch opening forms part of the bank’s ongoing celebration of 30 years of operating in Eswatini, under the theme ‘Sitintile Eswatini futsi asiyindzawo’. He emphasised that the bank is committed to demonstrating its impact through tangible investments rather than words alone.

 “This project here in Siphofaneni is one of many initiatives we have undertaken to demonstrate our commitment to bringing meaningful financial services closer to emaSwati. At the centre of our decision were the needs of our customers and the broader community in this area,” he said.

He noted that Siphofaneni is experiencing steady growth, making it a strategic location for investment.

“As a bank, we aim to partner with the community and local businesses to ensure that financial services are accessible where people live and work.

“This aligns with government’s broader agenda of decentralising services across the country.”

Previously, residents and businesses in Siphofaneni had to travel to Big Bend or Manzini to access banking services. Dlamini said the new branch would significantly reduce travel time and improve convenience.

“By bringing this branch closer, we are giving emaSwati back valuable time — time that can be used productively for their own development,” he said.

He added that the branch would also provide integrated financial advice, enabling customers to access tailored financial solutions more efficiently.
