NINE INFORMAL SETTLEMENTS GET GREEN LIGHT

MBABANE – About nine informal settlements within the Mbabane City have been approved by the Human Settlement Authority.


This was disclosed by the City Mayor Arnold Dlamini during the delivering of the Municipal Council 2013 Annual Report at Mountain Inn yesterday. 
Dlamini said the comprehensive layout design for the remaining informal settlements has been approved.


Further, he said the pegging and surveying exercise has been completed at Malagwane and Mangwaneni. He said soon to follow is Sidwashini, Fonteyn, Mahwalala Zone 6C and Nkwalini Zone 3 Townships to facilitate their formalisation.


Meanwhile, Dlamini noted that a total amount of over 15 million was collected during the 2012/2013 financial year compared to over E1 million collected in 2011/12.


that the project area under Nkwalini and Mahwalala Townships had a total of 2 561 saleable plots. “A total of 56 plots were fully paid up and registered from government to the project beneficiaries as part of the Urban Development Project,” Dlamini said.
