LOCAL FANS TO PAY E500 TO SENZO MEYIWA’S FUNERAL
MBABANE – An opportunity has been availed to local fans to pay their last respects to slain South Africa’s Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana skipper, Senzo Meyiwa.
The agile shot-stopper was shot dead by unknown thugs in Johannesburg, South Africa on Sunday night. The incident shocked the global football fraternity, including the throngs of supporters for the Soweto giants in the country.
Supporters wishing to travel to attend the gifted goalkeeper’s funeral in his home town in Umlazi Durban, South Africa, can fork out E500, announced organiser, Bongi Simelane. The fees cover transport costs only.
“Transport will leave in Mbabane and/or Manzini on Friday (tomorrow) at 6:30pm. The pick-up points will be determined by the location of the people who have paid for the trip.”
“We’ve an unlimited space but people should at least indicate before the end of the day.” The funeral ceremony, expected to be attended by top sports personalities, will be held on Saturday at his parental home in Umlazi, Durban.
