MBABANE – Just five days ago, two lucky fans were at Camp Nou in Spain, home to one of the greatest clubs in the world, Barcelona.

Allen Maseko from Bhunya and Sifiso Nkonzo Simelane of Mbabane are back with great memories after the watching the giants  beat  returnees, Eibar, by 3-0 in a Spanish La Liga clash on Saturday night at the 98 787-seater stadium. The pair was accompanied by Swaziland Beverages Channel Marketing Manager Mxolisi Dlamini, who also cannot maintain a straight face since returning on Monday night. The trip valued at over E200 000 was sponsored by the Castle Lager.

Dlamini said mingling with the hosting club’s stars that include Uruguayan star, Luis Suarez, Xavi and Dani Alves, among others, was the highlight of the trip.
“We watched the game and visited historic sites. We were seated next to one of the goal posts and watched Barcelona score some of their goals in the second half. “We posed with the players with the rest of the fans from across Africa after the game at training on Sunday, before connecting a flight back to the country. “We would have loved to speak to the players but there were language barriers.”

The two fans won a promotion run by Castle Lager during the duration of the FIFA World Cup in Brazil in June. Fans completed forms at stores after purchasing a Castle Lager 750ml to be eligible for the draw. The draw was conducted during the Castle Premier Challenge ‘Perfect Eight’ activations recently. They were furnished with Barcelona and Castle merchandise in Spain that includes bags, scarfs, T-shirts and caps.
