CUNNING LIONS EYE ‘BIRDS’

MBABANE – Red Lions are prowling and look dangerous. After their 2-1 win over Manzini Wanderers, Lions enter as favourites going into their clash against what seems to be a slowly recovering Swallows.

The Mbabane giants recorded their first win of the season against Sea Birds in midweek. Have they turned the corner?

RED LIONS:

Last MTN League outing: Red Lions 2, Manzini Wanderers 1

Coach: Mlamuli ‘Sputla’ Zwane.
Captain: Ricky Sibiya.  
Key players: Mthokozisi Hlatjwako, Phinda ‘Phindrix’ Dlamini and Senzo Dlamini.
Match winner: Senzo Dlamini – He will relish the prospects of inflicting pain to his former side, this mercurial winger, thriving under the guidance of Mlamuli ‘Sputla’ Zwane. He is in fine form.

SWALLOWS:

Last MTN League outing: Mbabane Swallows 1, Sea Birds 0
Log position: 10th (four points)
Coach: Aaron Mavimbela.
Captain: Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze.
Key players: Talent Maphosa, Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko and Sifiso Mabila.
Match winner: Sandile Hlatjwako – He scored the all-too-important winner at the death to salvage some pride for Swallows in midweek.  He needs to up his game though if he is to score more goals.

Buffaloes eye low-flying Sea Birds

MBABANE – Sea Birds have not had a good start and they must be worried to be trapped in the relegation murky waters with only five games played.
After back to back 0-1 defeats against Mbabane sides Highlanders and Swallows, Mpendulo Ngwenya’s charges are desperate for the maximum points.
Buffaloes too are not in a good mood. Green Mamba thrashed them 3-0 in midweek.

SEA BIRDS:

Last MTN League outing: Mbabane Swallows 1, Sea Birds 0
Log position: 11th (three points)
Coach: Mpendulo Ngwenya.
Captain: Thabo Langa.
Key players: Wandile Nhleko, Thembinkosi Thwala and Muzi Tsabedze.
Match winner: Machawe Mtsetfwa – He could still be searching for his first goal of the season but remains Sea Birds’ danger man. He needs to find his scoring boots fast.

BUFFALOES:

Last MTN League outing: Young Buffaloes 0, Green Mamba 3
Log position: 7th (eight points)
Coach: Charles Bwale.
Captain: Mphile Tsabedze.
Key players: Samkelo ‘Rio’ Lushaba, Wandile Shabangu and Mpendulo Kunene.
Match winner: Phiwa Dlamini – In the absence of striker Ndoda Mthethwa, eyes will be on the workaholic forward. He should be able to take his side through.
