LOBAMBA – Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala has advised new table tennis coaches to work hard to develop the sport in the country.

He advised them to work with the youth and young children in schools, and said the ministry would support the sport.
Ngcamphalala was the guest of honour during the grand closing ceremony of the Olympic Solidarity ITTF Para Table Tennis Level I Coaching Course.

This was held yesterday at the OlympAfrica Centre where 16 coaches were educated by Egypt’s ITTF expert Ahmed Dawlatly.
It was also attended by Swaziland Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (SOCGA) Vice-President Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa.
Three of the 16 coaches successfully completed the course while the others only received the Olympic Solidarity Club Coach certificates.

Meanwhile, Ahmed said those who would get the Level I certificate would have to do 30 hours of fieldwork first.
He also noted that Swaziland was still miles away from playing the sport competitively and enjoying the high level of the game, meaning a lot of work had to be done.

He, however, said he was available to the interim Swaziland Table Tennis Association committee headed by Musa Maseko, as well as to the coaches, for advice they would need.
