MANZINI – Waterford KaMhlaba College basketball team captains were over the moon with joy after winning the Dups –SNBA High Schools League titles on Saturday.

The boys’ team Captain, Samukeliso Ndlovu, was ecstatic after they defeated fierce rivals, Enjabulweni, in the final, in their own background.
Meanwhile, the girls’ team skipper, Tandza Simelane, was in a jovial mood and thrilled with her teammates.
Samukeliso Ndlovu:

“It’s been a long time coming. We struggled to beat Enjabulweni last year. This is our second win against them this year. That we beat them is an achievement for us. Of course, everyone is delighted. I think we won because we were psychologically ready, we believed in ourselves and that we could do it, and of course because of the hard work we all put in.”
Tandzi Simelane:

“I’m impressed by the team. We brought the younger players instead of the seniors and they did well. It shows progress for basketball, especially at Waterford. I also would like to give credit to our Coach, Naboth Phebeni, for the tremendous work he has done with the team. Today we were victorious because we understand basketball; the game. I believe that is one of the important aspects you need to have to win.”
